RUNNING WILD- LIVE

After hearing Grave Diggers new live cd half year ago released by GUN records, i was a bit afraid about upcoming Running Wilds one, because Diggers album was below their studio performance. Luckily i can tell now, that my fears are buried. Because this live album is good! Great even, but not groundbreaking. Anyway, it kicks old Ready For Boarding live ('87) by far. There are full 2 cd's total 19 songs (of which 1 intro and 1 drum solo). The sound is raw, crunchy enought, and crystal clear. In last album The Brotherhood members Matthias Liebetruth (d) and Berndt Aufermann (g) were missing... now whole band is playing, now wonder the sound is also greatest in years! Drums kicks better by far compared to last few studio albums and Bernd's guitars also adds some depth. Rolf sings awesome for live performance... There are so many songs and they are not new, that im leaving their reviewing off. Just say this, songs that i havent think were great ones like Unation, Welcome To Hell for example now sound good here. Every each is played with rock solid performance... highlights, i dont know. Too many. Bad To The Bone is strong rocking as ever. Soulless is heaviest ive heard them play so far, not that it already wasn't, and Matthias drums up close to Jörgs strong performance on Black Hand Inn album! Nice to see also band play some older classics like Riding The Storm, Blazon Stone, Purgatory, Uaschitschun and Under Jolly Roger... not forgetting Prisoner Of Our Time. Overall sounding is more bombastic than bands usual studio albums (except maybe Masquerade and Black Hand Inn which are close to same level). Only complaint, i'd say is that when band sings some choruses it seems to stay too much background and arent always loud enought. Oh well... hard to say rating since its live album, so i say just, buy it, you'll be gladly surprised!
