DragonForce- Valley of the damned

this band that claims to be UK's best melodic speed power metal act and they probably are- consideriung that the british scene does not particulary shine with talent as far as real metal goes- nowadays at least. Valley of the Damned is, at all costs. a good speed /power metal album, with a decent sound to it and some attempts to be original thatdo work well. Unfortunately, the demand for happy-happy joy-joy power metal is fully met by Gamma Ray and Helloween and a band that wants a share of their market pie better come up with something very much different if they want to make it. While the outfit does sound tight and quite professional, the sound of Gamma Ray meets Skid Row will probably do well in America as the glam flavour is so strong it gives me a bit of a nausia. Ok for America=- that is what I have to say to these guys- here in Europe we do things a lot different and catchy songs for romantic teenager girls won't quite have the success you want. OK, OK, there are a lot of romantic 15 years old scholgirls that will taste this, but I am afraid the real metalheads might nod their heads in disbelief- there is just not enough substance into this album to make me want to relisten it- an agreeable listen and that will about be it- nothing very special to be remembered about it.
