> 1. why Falconer?where did the name of the band come from?
I wanted a name that sounded original and wasn't too complicated. Falconer has a medieval feeling too. Something that I think you can find in the music too.
2.What is "chapter from a Vale Forlorn" bringing new, compared to the debut
self titled album?
More variety and maturity. The new one is much more interesting for me to listen too since the songs differ more from each other and the structure of the songs are more worked through.
3.Your music is full of medieval music and themes, and you also played in a
"viking metal" band. What are your personal influences that directed you to
this?
I don't know where the medieval influences came from in the beginning. I think it's just my personal style. I love melodic music and I have grown up with metal, so those parts ain't hard to figure out but the medieval things….I just don't know.
4.You have just played at Wacken and enjoyed a great success. How did that
feel like?
VERY good. It was our third gig ever, and we thought it was so fun. The audience was just superb so we have to thank them for the encouragement they gave us. The 3 gigs we've done so far has really spurred us to do more livegigs. It felt a bit strange from going from a band in the rehearsalroom as we've always been, into standing infront of thousands of wild fans in Germany. It's very fun but also a bit aburd from atleast my angle.
5.Where are you planning to tour this year?
Hmm, this year? We will probably do some shows this year, the plans are there but nothing is booked yet. A tour on the other side I think will not happen until the next album. I've started to work on that one now. If someone want us for a gig, then just contact us.
6..What bands do you listen to nowadays?
That's a wide selection. Jethro tull, Warlord, Lillian axe, Mike Oldfield, Simon and Garfunkel, Him and much much more.
7.how do you see the future of metal in the new millenium?
It's hard for me to say. I think people ill grow tired of all the nu-metal and turn towards the real stuff again. I hope and think so.
8.Are you already planning for a new album? if yes, what will that be like?
Yes, I am. It will be a concept album, so the music will be lead more by the lyrics than they've been in the past. Exactly what that will result in is still too early to say. Maybe not as straightly and commonly built. We'll still have to see.
9. a final word...........
Thanks a lot for the interview and cheers to all the folks who saw us live, I hope you didn't got scared away. Ha ha ha!!!
