If I would have ever wanted to know how the child of Bathory with King Diamond would have sounded, with Celtic Frost vocals, now I have my answer. Add to that the 80's manowaresque cover, and there you have the new Goddess of Desire release, "Conquerors Divine"...
Do not get me wrong, I don't mean to say that it's a bad release , once you get over the "This is the 80's all over again" feeling it's quite entertaining and, why deny it, pretty well done.
This dutch band sure knows who to look up to, and if what the band's official website says, this band was started for fun, and it sure seems to be fun to watch and listen to, although I thought that the naked girls on stage were a thing of the past...
A black metal album that sounds like a it's still 1987, with vocals on the brutal metal tradition on a heavypower background, with long discourses, that is the foundation of a good album, that gets 8.75/10 in my book.
Truth is the album is indeed good, starting with the thundering production, well orchestrated songs, nice way of using the brutal vocals, all in all a professional album from a band that DOES get better with the years, as this is their third release already
and if this is how the dutch metal- or what"s left of it- it's gonna be like, I can only enjoy the idea
