Crucible will surprise the die hard heavy metal fanatics that have chosen to follow the path of the Metal God after the latest and very dissappointing releases of what was once Judas Priest, with a very intriguing mix of classical heavy metal and newer influences , in a result that , although a little surprising at first,is never the less excellent once you get used to the idea. The Halford band is now a lot tighter than appeared on "ressurection" and the small desincronisations that were visible on the "Live Insurrection" have settled themselves, thus allowing the young and eager gang that the Metal god decided to gather around him to live up to the task of being a band called just"Halford". The album itself is indeed a great achievement as it presents a new face to the living legend in the most pleasant manner. At the age of 50, mr. Halford is not only an achieved artist with a name in the Heavy metal Panteon, but also an always new and never disappointing musician. "Crucible" is an intersting mix of the old heavy metal that The metal god has made a legend of himself with Judas Priest, but also a large and interesting range of new influences that gather together in the most spectacular manner although slightly different from what we would have expected, the album is not at all an unpleasant surprise for his fans and it is with greatr satisfaction that I can say that again rob has managed to succeed at the task that the latest Judas priest output fails to accomplish, and that is combining the traditional heavy metal with the newest ways of metal in a harmonic result.

. The album marks another huge stride in Halford's musical and vocal beliefs. "We worked for 12 hours a day, 7 days a week, " recalls frontman Rob Halford, and I think we have managed to surpass Resurrection. I've consistently tried to shake things up in my career and with this album I've managed to do it again."
