RUNNING WILD Gates To Purgatory

Now heres one album that contains strongly many 80's glitches. Poor sound of self production, lyrics are devilish or satanic and image is leather. Up to you to decide whether it's good or not. Yet Rolf & Co's debut has very good feel captured to it, it has good amount of energy and anger. I've heard this called even 80's doom-metal album which is misleading at my opinion, its quite strong straightforward speed-power-release at my opinion though the lyrics and sounds could be little darker of a kind. All songs are quite strong and rock on despite the boring and slow-plodding Preacher. Some classics can be found at this album like Victim of States Power, Soldiers of Hell, Diabolic Force, Prisoner of Our Time (played on almost every RW live-show). And i really enjoy also darker Black Demon and rocking Walpurgis Night which are often considered less classic. Adrian SOS is fun past paced riff-fest. So what we got here is quite strong troughout album, with nothing too melodic or technical but pure natural power and hardhitting 80's metal. And this is not what you would except from Running Wild if you've heard only their newest albums. This has slightly darker touch and i like it. Only complaint is actually poor sound quality and cheesy lyrics (if you can't take them as joke).
