an album not worthy of the bother


there is nothing more pathetic than this album, from a band that reaches the heights of useless. maybe someone should tell these guys to give up on making music, as this is not the way to do it, and copying from different other bands and mixing it in a very bad blender is NOT the way of metal. This statement, that may shock some more naive metal fans out there, comes from experience, and there is not a single original thing about Synergy,from their so called music to the bitching around of Kimberly G(r)oss, with this third pathetic result to prove me right. Funny thing is that Alexi Laiho himself is not a bad musician and his other project, "Children of Bodom" may be a lot more worthy to be listened than this one, but that is another story. Fact is that this is an album that I only review because I have to, and that says it all. Kimberly Goss is not an unfamiliar figure in metal.After trying to stick herself to different bands-Dimmu Borgir as one of the most known of them, she decided that her talent needed a bigger stage- althogh it's my personal opinion that if anything needs a bigger stage, tha is NOT her talent.
As for the actual album, what can be said? lame lyrics, superficial vocals and all in all very bad composing, and the only reason these guys were invited to Wacken was to provide some sources of laugh to the metal fans out there
One good musician does not make a band, and Alexi's solos cannot save this mess, although the guy indeed tries! Although pompously named, in order to attract attention,this album proves to be yet another waste of production money and effort, and the fact that a label had nothing better to do than actually sign them is a continous source of amazement for me.
And not even the bitching around that the pathetic American has tried in order to attract a little more publicity did not work, as the album's sales are about as bad as it gets,and being probably conscient that they screwed it up again, she decided to get a little more promotion by using the all powerful weapon of scandal. Unfortunately for her, this all powerful pop tool does not work for metal, as - usually- the metal fans come ecquipped with brains...
By trying to point senseless attacks to msicians a lot more valuabe than she is, it apears that Kimberly Goss' ego has grown as much as her weight, which may be interesting to see live whaling on a stage that we can only hope it will not collapse under her.
Her vocals are good indeed, for the standard of the shower singers, and maybe teh nbest thing for this band to do is go back into the oblivion, but I kinda doubt there will be enough sense left in them to actually do that, so look out for another piece of musical shit to torture the ears,but i can only hope it will be as late as possible. It is nice to hope, so one can only assume that once Alexi Laiho wakes up from his delusion he will put an end to this pathetic attempt of a band, that seems to be in a continous pursuit of spineless and tasteless musicians, and as soon as they actualy wake up, they don"t know how to run faster....
