Metallica- St. Anger

this album was eagerly expected by everyone in the industry and large masses of metal fans hoping that metallica will start to deliver the goods again Well, guess what?
Not gonna happen.
because St Anger is yet another commercial scam from the masters of selling out themselves. It still amazes me that people don't learn. At all.
metallica is no longer a metal band, folks!!
How many shit mainstream albums do you need to get the facts?? Wake up!!
St Anger was supposed to be a "back to the roots " album. What it is, is a Demolition type of commercial scheme of the worst way. Somethuing that is supposed to get the old fans back to Metallica.Nice scheme, isn't it? I personally hope that the old fans have enough brains of their own not to fall for this cheap trick. Rant over, lets get to the actiual review:
First thing that needs to be said is that the production is horrendous.
You would think that a band with that kind of money woule be able to get themselves a real producer. then again, I guess not...
So, what are these 75 minutes all about? The good news is that they gave up on country rock. The bad news is that they did not give up on music... Oh well, one cannot win it all!!
the so called call to the arms is in fact a statement about James Hetfield's middle age and drinking problems and has probably originated in a serious hangover. Oh yeah, mister Hetfield is definitely angry. let me guess- his stocks are down or maybe he noticed he is starting to lose his hair...
St.Anger is a ripoff of the Master of Puppets era, with a frequency of 3 fucks a second in a way worthy of the Osbournes. It does work commercially, so why am I not surprised?? Otherwise, the song IS the best on this overextended excuse of a CD, and it appears that Metallica MIGHT be actually able to make some more good music, once their greed is filled. But don't hold your breath, that's not REALLY gonna happen.
Dirty Window is a Motorhead ripoff of Pedal to the Metal. is the song in which allegedly Hetfield confronts his alcoolism. Oh, poor guy.If this is supposed to get any sympathy from me, it was hit and miss. I cannot feel sorry for a hugely rich guy who sold out.
I would rather have him drink like he used to in the 80's and write like he used to in the 80's, because obviously alcohol; was his creating force...
Motorhead should sue them for tealing most of the song...

two songs already and no guitar solo whatsoever... Now this is strange. Kirk is the only one in that band who IS in fact a talented musician. What is going on here??

Invisible Kid is supposed to "suggest his struggle to those who care" Who cares??
And it just keeops like this. An album about James Hetfield's ego and faked creative battle with himself
The album is too long, the drums sound like shit, there is absolutely NO creative force or concept behind the songs. You will see a lot of good reviews of it in the paperback media- but before buying them remember that they need the label's support to survive, and barking the hand that feeds you ain't cool. There are no solos, this Trujillo fellow is completely out of place but then again... The attempt of recreating the sound of the 80's is lamentably failed.
This album is NOT worthy of my time or yours
