This Chicago based band can be called many things but boring or untalented.In fact, there is something about them that makes their alternative heavy metal style not only easy to listen and enjoyable but also quite unusual.
Musically speaking, they fit into the big pile of american bands- quite close to the top of it:-)).
They do seem to have some serious punk roots and the voice and riffs would fit well somewhere between post punk and industrial, but with some serious heavy metal roots to them
What gives their music a special flavour is the fact that it's all life inspired and most of the listeners can find some of their own problems in it.
The band has a lot of energy to put out and although their style does not quite fit with the trends that sweep the american metal nowadays- they do seem to have made a name for themselves in the Chicago metal scene.
It might have something to do with the fact that they do put their souls into it and follow their hearts- all in alll Fear Unknown strikes me as a band who puts in a great deal of effort and honesty, together with
some serious originality.
A band that has a lot to offer- 8.5/10
