AXENSTAR are THAT new heavy metal band I wrote a review of last week- and you can read it here
A good metal band from Sweden that makes traditional metal- that is pretty much what they are about.
Magnus Eriksson was kind enough to answer some questions for us- so there you have it:-))
Why Axenstar? what does the name mean to you?
We took the name Axenstar because we wanted a name that had never been used
before, it doesn't actually mean anything it is just a name that we came up with
after several weeks of thinking.
Tell me about your new album,. Is there a concept theme behind it?
There is not a concept theme behind the album, it is just a very strong album
with great metal songs.
How is the metal life in sweden nowadays?
It is great with such bands like Hammerfall, Lost Horizon, Nocturnal Rites,
Dream Evil and so on....
Are there any particular bands that influenced you?
As we mentioned earlier all great swedish metal bands and of course the finnish
metal bands like Sonata Arctica, Children of Bodom, Stratovarius it is very easy
to get influences when you have those kind of bands around
Are you planning to tour Europe with the new CD?
Not just yet, maybe we can go on an European tour after the second album is
released in October 2003, but this summer we are going to play at Sweden Rock
Festival in June, that is one thing we're really looking forward to.
How do you see the metal of the third millenium?Is there a fair chance for heavy
metal?
Metal can never die!! There will always be longhaired guys that don't like to
listen to the crap that the radiostations are playing.
